Milewater Service Centre Officially Opened
Translink and the Department for Infrastructure (DfI) have officially opened the new Milewater Service Centre in north Belfast, which is the main base for the iconic Glider fleet, as well as a new depot for Translink’s engineering and projects teams.
The new facility is an integral part of the Glider network, supporting the Programme for Government and a NI Executive Flagship Project. It represents an investment worth approximately £20 million, with £14 million support from the European Regional Development Fund through the Investment for Growth and Jobs Programme for Northern Ireland 2014-2020, plus support from the Department for Infrastructure.

Working with Magherafelt-based contractor Henry Brothers Ltd, Translink has delivered a high-quality service centre, with enhanced services and facilities to accommodate Glider vehicles and standard Metro vehicles, workshops, central storage facilities, specialist equipment and bus washing and fuel facilities.
