Alan Stewart appointed National Association of Shopfitters’ Vice President
A Northern Ireland man has been appointed as Vice President of the National Association of Shopfitters (NAS).
Alan Stewart, Business Development and Marketing Manager at award-winning Marcon Fit-Out, was appointed at the NAS’s recent AGM in London. The Association, which represents the interests of almost 250 interior fit-out contractors throughout Britain and Northern Ireland is celebrating its Centenary this year.
The Muckamore man who has served on the NAS Council for three years will assume the Presidency in 2020.
Alan Stewart said: “It is an honour to have been selected as the Vice President of the National Association of Shopfitters in this its Centenary Year.
“I look forward to working with the President, Marc Allen and the Council as we enter an exciting time for the NAS.
“Being a long-time supporter of the NAS and having served on the Council for a number of years it is rewarding to be able to represent Marcon Fit-Out in this capacity and I look forward to working closely with our members and associate members over the coming years.”
The NAS – membership of which is regarded as a mark of quality – celebrates its centenary in 2019. Formed a year after World War 1, it has 246 members, all of whom work in the interior fit-out sector. Its core purposes are to facilitate networking, the provision of a comprehensive portfolio of subsidised training and to drive up professional standards.
The NAS’ membership spectrum ranges from small, owner-managed businesses to international plcs based in towns and cities throughout GB and Northern Ireland. Combined membership turnover is around £1.3bn.
Projects NAS members have delivered over the past 100 years include: Titanic Belfast, Tate Britain, London, Princess Royal Stand Cheltenham Race Course, The Shangri-La Hotel, The Shard and Queens Library Windsor Castle.
